Early in our lives together it was apparent that, among other things, photography, was going to be something we could spend a lifetime doing together. Back in the day of 35mm film, many hours were spent in the dark room, processing and developing prints and slides. Then with the change from film to digital and with the huge potential using software editing options, photography is once again something to intrigue and stimulate the mind and the eye. Regardless of the media its a privilege to be able to capture some of God's amazing creation.
We both were, and are, primarily drawn to landscape and architectural images all the while trying to maintain a sense of relaism and or emotion. That said, occasionally an image will better capture the imagination as a monchrome or selective colorization than full color. Of late with the new application of HDR (high dynamic range) software provides the ability to "map tones" of a series of the same image when taken with multiple exposures. Certain types of images benefit from this technique.
If you are traveling with us you will know that mornings and evenings are "prime-time" when it comes to LIGHT. Some might say we waste "travel time" waiting for a sunrise or sunset, but, for us, its a chance to slow the pace and enjoy the moment.
As we have opportunity to travel we try to capture those moments in time that can live on perhaps even beyond our lives. If not, we ourselves will enjoy them as long as we can.
Photography is considered by some a media for the artist, where with composite images, and software editing, anything is possible. We appreciate the wild and wierd side of digital photography, but for us, keeping the images close to how we saw them is our preference. So don't expect, from us, purple dragon's in Iceland or harvest moons on a tropical beach. That said its fun to convert a photo into an impressionistic-like painting using software.
We do hope you enjoy some of what you see here and come back to visit this website often.
